Featured Position: ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF GLOBAL INITIATIVES

Responsibilities:

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF GLOBAL INITIATIVES, Resource Development-Office of Institutional Initiatives, to assume responsibility for raising private philanthropic funds from individual donors capable of making significant gifts in support of the Institute. Will assist with setting and implementing strategies for market and donor development, volunteer management, and resource allocation within a designated region for the purpose of maximizing fund-raising opportunities in order to meet overall monetary goals as well as for specific priorities; serve as an advocate for the Office of Global Initiatives within the Office of Institutional Initiatives and build strong collaborations with other groups within the department and other parts of MIT; work with faculty leaders to develop and promote global MIT interests as well as region- and program-specific strategies for fund-raising; and collaborate and strengthen ongoing relationships with faculty, alumni, and Alumni Association and Resource Development colleagues.

REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor’s degree (advanced education strongly desired), a proven track record of soliciting major gifts from individuals, accomplishment in a position requiring independent planning and efficient utilization of resources, demonstrated leadership skills, ability to successfully coordinate with diverse areas, and knowledge of all aspects of the gift cycle. A minimum of five years’ fund-raising experience at an educational organization preferred, especially at the principal gift level. Must be articulate and have well-proven human relations and communications skills for interacting with potentially large benefactors of the Institute. Knowledge of a foreign language and international experience a plus. Willingness to travel for extensive periods of time expected. MIT-00006227-Q
