We are mission-driven and collaborative. The Office of Resource Development consists of 12 teams and a number of strategic partners, which contribute to a variety of fundraising initiatives.

The Communications, Events, and Donor Relations & Stewardship (CEDRS) team creates and implements strategies to support donor engagement, fundraising, and stewardship while showcasing and building the MIT story of philanthropy. CEDRS serves as an in-house creative agency, with work encompassing a wide range of communications, events, and recognition programs for MIT donors and prospects, including alumni, parents, friends, foundations, and corporations.

CEDRS partners with members of the advancement community and stakeholders across the Institute to support fundraising and donor relations at MIT by:

  • Creating multichannel campaigns and print and digital assets that foster awareness of and build enthusiasm around MIT’s fundraising priorities
  • Writing customized gift proposals
  • Featuring stories of impact and ways to support MIT in Spectrum and Corridor and on the Better World website
  • Planning, executing, and marketing high-level events in support of MIT’s philanthropic efforts and overall mission
  • Fostering the relationship between the Institute and its donors through activities that acknowledge, recognize, and report on gifts to MIT and engage donors in the life of the Institute
  • Crafting design and branding guidelines and templates to ensure a unified visual identity for materials and events
  • Maintaining an editorial style guide to promote clear, error-free communications consistent with the style and tone of MIT
  • Conceptualizing and producing custom gifts to recognize transformational donors
