Leadership Giving (OLG)
The Office of Leadership Giving (OLG) has primary responsibility for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects and donors. Members of OLG work closely with the administration, faculty, the many areas of Resource Development, the development efforts in the schools and the Alumni/ae Association to coordinate the cultivation and solicitation of these gifts of $100,000 or more.
Gift Planning
The Office of Gift Planning (OGP) is responsible for managing the administration of gifts made through MIT Unitrusts, Gift Annuities, Pooled Income Funds, and bequests. The Office of Gift Planning works closely with Leadership Giving, Philanthropic Partnerships, and the Alumni Association to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward planned gifts to expand the base of capital campaign donors.
Special Constituencies
The Office of Special Constituencies directs programs supporting unique donor constituencies for the purpose of raising private support for MIT from these segments of the donor population. The Director of Special Constituencies stewards and cultivates these prospects and acts as liaison, as appropriate, between the Alumni Association and Resource Development (RD) in support of these efforts. Special Constituencies manages the Katharine Dexter McCormick Society, which recognizes the community of alumni, parents, relatives, and friends who have made provisions to support MIT’s future through a bequest or a life income plan.
