We are mission-driven and collaborative. The Office of Resource Development consists of 12 teams and a number of strategic partners, which contribute to a variety of fundraising initiatives.

The Office of Philanthropic Partnerships (OPP) was created in FY2008 to coordinate and lead MIT’s principal gifts program. The office, which includes the Office of Global Initiatives (OGI), nurtures the Institute’s relationships with its most generous individual donors, and cultivates and engages potential donors from around the globe who have the capacity to contribute $5 million or more.

Global Initiatives

The Office of Global Initiatives (OGI) has the primary responsibility of managing relationships with individuals living outside of the United States capable of making gifts of $5M+ to MIT. Secondary responsibilities include collaborating with faculty leaders to develop and implement the Institute’s global strategy and the myriad funding relationships that result from that strategy. In partnership with the schools, the OGI also supports school-based strategies and engages school leaders to support Institute-wide goals.
