About Resource Development
Bold ideas need bold backers. That’s why alumni and friends of MIT work with the Resource Development team to match their philanthropic interests with the Institute’s academic and research priorities—and help turn ambitious ideas into working solutions to the toughest problems facing humanity.
Our work has broad reach. Every day, we collaborate with the Institute’s leadership; schools, college, departments, labs, centers, and institutes; faculty and researchers; the MIT Alumni Association; and a network of dedicated volunteers. We build emotionally resonant connections with our donors that honor their motivations and highlight the meaningful impact of their support.
We are led by the vice president for Resource Development, who oversees the planning, development, and implementation of all aspects of MIT’s fundraising enterprise. Our office comprises a number of teams working together to advance the lnstitute’s goals.
The vice president for Resource Development serves on a number of committees across MIT including the Academic Council, Building Committee, Community Giving at MIT Steering Committee, Gift Acceptance Committee, Gift Policy Committee, and MIT Annual Giving Board.
