For MIT Community Members
The Office of Foundation Relations (OFR) builds and sustains relationships with private foundations and philanthropic entities to inspire and deepen connections to MIT. We manage a vast network of relationships and regularly communicate with external partners to stay abreast of foundation funding priorities, as well as showcasing the breadth of MIT’s exceptional work and transformative impact.
OFR helps develop and implement strategies to secure philanthropic support for Institute-wide initiatives and strategic priorities, as well as priorities of MIT’s schools and DLCIs, in close partnership with senior leadership, deans, assistant deans of development, faculty, and other fundraising staff.
Because of the nature of foundation giving, we partner closely with key internal teams, including the Office of the Recording Secretary (RSO), Research Administration Services (RAS), Research Development, and the Office of Strategic Alliances and Technology Transfer (OSATT), to streamline fundraising efforts.
MIT faculty and staff can explore potential foundation funding opportunities:
- MIT Funding Opportunities Portal provides information on open requests for proposals (RFPs) and prize opportunities.
- The MITFundOpps monthly newsletter highlights newly-announced RFPs.
