Data Management and Governance
Data Management and Governance resides within the Resource Development (RD) Strategic Information Management Office. The team is responsible for maintaining the high quality of MIT’s alumni, donor, and prospect information, as well as establishing policies and procedures that ensure proper data access, security, and compliance.
Information Technology
The Resource Development Information Technology (RD-IT) team resides within the RD Strategic Information Management Office. RD-IT provides technical management, maintenance, services, and support for RD staff and its central and related systems, and support and services to other development organizations throughout the Institute and other constituencies requiring access to advancement information or services. RD-IT comprises five functional areas: Programming and Data Management, Business Intelligence, Project Management and Business Processes, Web Development, and Information Technology Services/Help Desk.
Prospect Development
The Office of Prospect Development (PD), which resides within the RD Strategic Information Management Office, contributes to MIT’s fundraising efforts by collecting, researching, and disseminating information to direct and inform solicitation and engagement strategy for prospective donors. PD’s primary functions are the identification of new prospective donors; strategic research and analysis of prospective donors; building sustainable fundraising portfolios; and, in partnership with the MIT Office of the Recording Secretary and the Institute’s Gift Acceptance Committee, conducting philanthropic due diligence research on current and prospective donors.
