Philanthropic Partnerships

The Office of Philanthropic Partnerships (OPP) coordinates and leads MIT’s cause-based major and principal gift fundraising efforts, with a special focus on non-alumni friends and corporations. The office drives special projects and cross-Institute fundraising efforts for key MIT priorities, and stewards the Institute’s relationships with its most generous donors from around the globe.

The OPP team works with stakeholders within Resource Development and across campus to develop programmatic, complex, and transformational giving opportunities, which can include philanthropy and sponsored research.
